Conceived as part of the larger Oman Exhibition and Conference complex, the hotel was designed to complement the adjacent convention center’s strong circular form. Sited at the apex of a deep ravine, the 255 rooms and 45 suites fan outwards along a ridgeline, keeping the hotel’s height subservient to the convention center’s iconic dome, while creating a dramatic vista from a passing highway beyond. The hotel lobby oval shape reiterates this form while also reaching outwards towards the guest arrival porte cochere.
Upper-level suites above the lobby have floor to ceiling windows screened by twirled bronzed tendrils that simultaneously capture light while providing guest privacy. On the opposite ravine side, this curved shape becomes the natural gathering F&B location, with dining overlooking an oasis garden stepping down to ravine edge.
