This project re-branded a difficult to define space into a high-concept Japanese grill using binchotan, a charcoal producing virtually no smoke but generating extreme flash-point heat. Embers gray and burnt red became benchmark colors for the project’s identity.
Re-energizing both an indoor bar area and expanding an under-utilized outdoor deck gave Binchotan the real estate to introduce an authentic Kosei grill for a heightened guest dining experience.
